Fourth of July Fun

We had a great 4th of July weekend up in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We joined the McDowells on Friday, Saturday and Sunday up in the Rocky Mountain National park. We mostly just hung around, set up camp, took some walks, fished in the creek and got lots of mosquito bites on Friday. Friday night we drove into Estes park and watched a spectacular fireworks show. It was really long, but the grand finale was worth staying awake for. Saturday morning was pretty lazy too. Trevor got up early and went fishing of course, but after moving camp and eating lunch we took off for our 5 mile hike to Cub Lake. It was amazing and beautiful. The kids did awesome. The girls hiked the whole way with no complaining (well, Natali got a ride on dad's shoulders for a while on the way back). The Lake was covered in these really cool lilly pads all the way around. Trey just kicked back in his hiking backpack and enjoyed everything. It was a great but tiring day. We all added mosquito bites that day too. The mosquitoes were the only downfall. All the kids slept great in the tent fully equiped with a queen size air mattress, two cots, and a playpen. Sunday morning we packed up while Ben and his Dad did more hiking and headed over to Loveland for a shower and dinner at Penny and Ben's. Thanks again for the showers McGlaughlins! You are the best! I'll post a bunch of pictures as soon as I can get them off the camera.
